Beginning in grade 5 and continuing through the 12th grade, our bands have consistently received superior ratings at regional, state, and national events. Our students receive quality instruction on their instrument helping them to develop their talents and give them confidence in their ability as musicians. Students are exposed to a variety of musical experiences during their time in band which helps prepare them for their next level. CHOIR
The Faith Academy Choral program consists of five performing ensembles that meet daily. These choirs encompass grades 5-12 and offer students a well-rounded choral experience including genres like popular, sacred, and classical music. The choral department believes in music literacy and includes music theory and sightreading in class instruction. All choirs have numerous performance opportunities throughout the year allowing them to develop as performers and have received numerous accolades and awards over the years for their outstanding musical ability. Many graduating seniors are offered music scholarships at colleges around the nation. The face of the Faith Academy choir is the Chamber singers, an auditioned group of 9th-12th graders. They are the program’s premiere performing ensemble that meets twice a week after school.

ELEMENTARY MUSIC
All elementary classes (grades 1-4) go to music once a week. In general music, students learn about and explore the voice, identify sounds and families of different instruments, listen and engage in several music genres, and are taught basic music theory. Students develop musicianship and are given several opportunities to create their own music. In fourth grade, students learn how to play the ukulele, compose their own songs, and perform with their classmates.

CHAPEL WORSHIP TEAM
It is the goal of Faith Academy to help students use their God-given talents and abilities for the glory of God. The Chapel Worship Team includes students in grades 10-12 that lead worship for our chapel services every other week. This student-led-team is an auditioned instrumental and vocal group that is directed by Mrs. Morgan Friday and Mrs. Amanda Sells.
DRAMA
Drama ProductionsThe FA Drama Team presents two annual productions, alternating between full-length plays and musicals. This is an audition team only. Auditions are held in early fall for the full-length play and in early winter for the spring musical.
Drama Classes
The drama classes are open to all 10th-12th graders as an elective. Drama I is designed to educate interested students on the different types of acting, the basics of theater history, and the logistics of play production. Drama II gives talented students an opportunity to further their knowledge in the field of acting by offering an in-depth look at the history and variety of drama and also by providing several opportunities for students to demonstrate their dramatic talents in a variety of styles and for diverse audiences. Students in Drama II are also responsible for writing and producing a short film. Drama III provides an in-depth analysis of the great acting teachers and their methods and allows for development in characterization, acting techniques, and controlled movement during performance. Students in all of the drama classes complete a written and performance assessment for each chapter, and they plan and produce a play for their peers.
Drama Competitions
One of the most intense parts of the school year for the drama department is the preparation for the AISA Drama Competition. The competition is open to 7th-12th graders with the stipulation of having been in at least one major production at Faith Academy. Faith Academy has participated in these competitions since 2004. Students compete in the following four categories: solo acting, duet acting, ensemble, and musical ensemble.
Drama Camps
We also have a drama camp every summer for all students entering grades seven through twelve. We send out scripts in advance and produce a play in one week. We also learn other skills in various workshops including vocal projection, improvisation, acting, team building, choreography, and human videos. It is a great way for students to get introduced to all of the opportunities available to theatrical students here at Faith.
